Animagica is the sole inhabited planet in a star system named Avivav and receives about 55% of its light from Synnefyr, a gigantic mass of fire clouds. The remaining light comes from fire, bioluminescent and biofluorescent organisms, rocks and minerals. Avivav is located in the galaxy of Evita Nigami with thousands of other planetary and star systems which are yet to be explored.

Animagica resembles Earth in many ways, first and foremost in its geological structure. Most organisms seen on Earth seem to exist on Animagica as well, but it is unknown whether all of them can be found there. The same goes for rocks and minerals. However, there are many non-earthly organisms, e.g. squirrelfish, wheat dough swamps, paper trees, origami birds or biofluorescent flying jellyfish. Non-organisms such as water, air or rocks can have personalities too though. For example, a river that decides to run upstream.
